All-New Ford EcoSport has been officially introduced in ASEAN through the Bangkok International Motor Show 2013 which opened to the media today, Monday (25/3).
However, the emergence of small SUVs that just invites a lot of questions from the media because EcoSport is not down with the 1,000 cc engine turbo charger called the Ford EcoBoost technology.
EcoSport that will be assembled in Thailand and ASEAN market to just use a conventional gasoline engine-powered 1.5-liter 108hp and 138Nm of torque.
"Currently we can not elaborate on because we will market EcoBoost version 1.5-liter petrol engine in the region (ASEAN)," said Graham Pearson, director of Ford's small car division Asia Pacific.
"You know that EcoBost engine turbo charger technology which uses very sophisticated. Although only uses a small 1.0-liter engine, but with the support that we created turbo can produce great performance and fuel efficiency is very high, "he told a number of media, including Dapurpacu.com in Bangkok today.
He added that in order to support the use of not just EcoBoost fuel required an infrastructure of quality, but also clean air that contains more oxygen.
It is described as a turbo system that utilizes air pressure very effectively used in developed countries with a cold region.
But Graham ensures that 1.5-liter engine which will be paired for EcoSport ASEAN version is equally efficient. He felt sure that EcoSport is very fuel efficient because one of them had supported intelligent automatic transmission system Ti-6-Speed CVT (twin independent variable timing camshift).
